The return of Harry Potter
Are you ready to return to the magical world of Hogwarts? TV network HBO is creating a brand-new Harry Potter television series that will bring J.K. Rowling’s famous books back to life.
What’s the series about?
The new TV series will still follow the plot of the original seven Harry Potter books. Each season will focus on one book, allowing for more details and stories that were not included in the movies.
Fans can look forward to seeing events like Hermione’s S.P.E.W. campaign and Nearly Headless Nick’s Deathday Party, both of which were left out of the films.
When will it be released?
Filming is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios near London, UK. It’s the same place where the original movies were filmed. The series is expected to come out in late 2026 or early 2027.

Who’s in the cast?
Some of the professors at Hogwarts have already been chosen, but the main roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione have not been announced yet.
Choosing the young actors won’t be easy, with over 30,000 children auditioning for the parts of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
A magical budget
This new TV series is likely to become the most expensive show ever made. It has a budget of more than $4.2 billion (£3.15 billion). Not all of the money is going to be spent only on the show itself. The project includes building new roads, car parks and even a real school for the young cast members to continue their studies while filming the show.
So get your wands ready, the magic of Hogwarts is coming back, and it’s going to be more detailed, more magical, and more exciting than ever before!
