Hi, welcome to English News for Kids! We’re Mark and Sinead, the husband-and-wife team who started it all.
We were both born in Birmingham, England, and we’ve been teaching English to learners around the world since 2017. We’ve also been writing for online publications for several years.
Since Sinead is also a professional copywriter and editor, she naturally takes the lead as editor of this news site. She’s a firm but fair boss 😉
We created English News for Kids with one clear goal: to provide an engaging and entertaining English news site for young readers. Drawing on our experience from the classroom and the writer’s desk, we write fun, educational news stories that help children build their vocabulary and improve their English reading and comprehension.
This site exists to educate, entertain, and inspire young readers around the world.
Our teaching journey began back in 2017, when we volunteered at a school in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Since then, we’ve taught students from all over the globe, and now we’ve built English News for Kids as a place where children can learn something new every day.
