Why June 25th?
On June 25th in 1967, The Beatles took part in a very special TV broadcast called Our World. It was the first live global television programme, shown by satellite to 24 countries and reached 70 million televisions.
During the broadcast, The Beatles performed a new song called “All You Need Is Love”. The lyrics were simple and powerful. The message was clear: love is the most important thing in the world. That performance is one of the reasons Global Beatles Day is held on June 25th.
A message that still matters
The Beatles were more than just musicians. They believed in peace, kindness, and using your imagination to change the world. Their music often encouraged people to care about others, ask questions, and think differently.
Even though the band broke up over 50 years ago, their ideas still inspire people today. That’s why fans call Global Beatles Day a “love letter” to the band, it’s a way of saying thank you.

People celebrate Global Beatles Day in lots of fun ways. Some listen to their favourite Beatles songs. Others watch old performances, create art, or even dress up like the band!
Schools and music groups sometimes hold events to share their songs and stories.
You don’t need to know much about The Beatles to join in. This could be the perfect day to hear one of their songs for the first time. Who knows, you might become a fan too!
